Frequently Asked Questions
The cost of the tree will likely be the smallest part of your budget. The real cost, depending on your location, is in the digging, transportation and planting of trees. The health and vitality of a large tree is largely dependent on the size of the root ball. So, the actual cost on a per/tree basis is a function of the time required and the distance traveled to dig, move and transplant each tree. When we have answers to these questions, we can provide an estimate of the total cost. As for the cost of a particular type of tree, please see the question below this one.
Pricing is dependent on several factors. These include the size of the tree (measured by tree circumference at its base – measured at 6 inches above the ground) or its height, the volume of trees you purchase (more trees usually means a lower price), the available inventory (the more trees we have, the lower the price) and, of course, the uniqueness, rarity and quality of the tree. A “specimen tree” is the label given to a perfect tree – this usually defines its structure or shape and canopy.
We will warranty our trees for one year after planting. You can choose different levels of protection and each is priced depending on time/distance factors, the volume of trees and your particular needs or wants. You can state your interest in getting a warranty for your trees when you answer these questions that are required for an estimated cost of our services.
Yes. We can provide general counsel and suggestions on tree placement (wind control, privacy, spacing, etc.) at no cost or we can provide a full landscaping plan using reliable and proven resources who specialize in landscape architecture and have a track record of happy customers. If the latter, we would provide an estimate of the cost following a site visit. We can also provide tree care services (like irrigation, mulching, etc.) if desired.
No. There are different services available and we can recommend one, based on our 38 years of experience, once we know what your specific requirements are. You may not need an arborist (obviously more expensive) for this kind of work. If you do, we will so advise you.
